From: http://www.todotango.com/spanish/creadores/alepera.html Antes de emprender la fatal gira que terminó tan desgraciadamente en Colombia, tanto Carlos Gardel como Alfredo Le Pera dejaron grabadas sus impresiones sobre sus películas, sus canciones y sus futuros trabajos para la nueva marca que los contrató en Nueva York. Dijo Gardel: "Habla Carlos Gardel. Queridos amigos de la América Latina, de mi tierra y de mi raza; la casa «Victor» quiere que les anuncie la firma reciente de mi contrato de exclusividad con ella, y yo lo hago muy gustoso porque sé que nuestras grabaciones serán cada vez más perfectas y encontrarán en ustedes, oyentes cordiales e interesados. Yo acabo de terminar con nuevas películas «Paramount», «El día que me quieras» y «Tango Bar», y voy a comenzar una gira que comprenderá Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Panamá, Cuba y México. Luego visitaré los otros países de nuestra lengua, donde espero tener el gusto de saludarles personalmente. Estoy ahora en los estudios «Victor», de Nueva York, registrando las canciones de «El día que me quieras», la película que quiero de todo corazón y que dedico a los amigos de España y de la América Latina. Estas canciones, como las de «Tango Bar», las encontrarán ustedes en discos «Victor». Y ahora cedo el micrófono a mi amigo Le Pera, que es el autor de mis películas y de la letra de las canciones". Por su parte Le Pera expresó: "Yo felicito a Gardel y a la casa «Victor» por este contrato y en cuanto a mí mismo, al placer de ver registradas mis composiciones en discos de magnífica calidad, se agrega la satisfacción de saberme interpretado por un artista del gran talento de Gardel. Adios queridos".
Before starting the fatal tour which ended so unfortunately in Colombia,
either Carlos Gardel as Alfredo Le Pera recorded their impressions about
their movies, their songs and their future works for the new label who hired
them in New York. Gardel said:
"Dear friends of the Latin America, of my land and of my race; the «Victor» house wants me to announce my recent signing of a contract of exclusivity with it, and I do it very pleased because I know that our recordings will be more perfect each time and will find in you, friendly and interested listeners. I have just finished two new «Paramount» movies, «El día que me quieras» and «Tango Bar», and I am going to start a tour which will include Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Panamá, Cuba and Mexico. Later I will visit some other countries of our language, where I hope to have the pleasure to personally say hello to you. I am now at the «Victor» studios, in New York, recording the songs for «El día que me quieras», a movie I love with all my heart and that I dedicate to the friends of Spain and of the Latin America. These songs, like those of «Tango Bar», will be found by you on «Victor» discs, and now I give the microphone to my friend Le Pera, who is the author of my movies and of the lyrics of my songs" For his part Le Pera said: "I congratulate Gardel and the «Victor» house for this agreement and as for myself, to the pleasure of seeing recorded my compositions on discs of magnificent quality, is added the satisfaction of knowing that I am interpreted by an artist of great talent as Gardel is".
