I hope that somebody is reading this post in Spain (y ojalá que así sea).
It is quite offensive that the industry cheat the audiences around the world. And the worst insult is that a reissue is going to improve things when they actually do exactly the opposite.
The Spanish company Altaya began recently to reprint, as they said, the complete discography of Carlos Gardel including rarities for the first time and with an unprecedent sound quality "thanks to the technological improvements"... bla, bla, bla.
Sadly, in capital letters, THEY ARE LYING!
First they are NOT reprinting the entire discography; a number alternate takes of a single songs are not going to be published (and I have 20 cassettes with those).
Second, and worse, the sound quality is horrible! Even the original 78 r.p.m disks, and the later 33 1/3 LP's earliest technical reconstructions, had a much better sound.
For my part, I don't care about the way Altaya do their bussiness. But they cannot lie to the public, specially in critical days as these ones.
My advice, is to keep the LP's and not purchasing this badly conceived fiasco.

Espero que alguien está leyendo este post en España (y ojalá que así sea).
Es muy ofensivo de la industria de engañar al público de todo el mundo. Y el peor insulto es que una reedición vaya a mejorar las cosas, cuando en realidad hacen exactamente lo contrario.
La empresa española Altaya comenzó recientemente a imprimir, ya que, dijo, la discografía completa de Carlos Gardel con rarezas por primera vez y con una calidad de sonido sin precedentes ", gracias a las mejoras tecnológicas" ... bla, bla, bla.
Lamentablemente, en letras mayúsculas, que están mintiendo!
En primer lugar ellos no estan la reimprimiendo de la discografía completa; una alternativa de número de tomas de una solo canciones que no van a ser publicados (y tengo 20 cassettes con ellas).
En segundo lugar, y peor aún, la calidad del sonido es horrible! Incluso loas discos originales de 78 rpm, y la más tarde 33 1 / 3 discos de larga duración de reconstrucciones técnica, tenían un sonido mucho mejor.
Por mi parte, no se preocupan por la forma en que Altaya hace su negocio. Pero no pueden mentir a la opinión pública, especialmente en días críticos como estos.
Mi consejo, es mantener a los LPs y no comprar de este fiasco mal concebido.
