Jose Razzano met Gardel for the first time in 1911 in a singing match in "El Pelado" café in Buenos Aires. Their friendship begins here and the idea is born to form a duet that will take take place in 1913. Razzano worked with Gardel in a duet and as composer, guitarist and lyricist from 1913-1925, recording their first songs in 1913. Razzano was also Gardel's business manager until 1931. They reunited once more and for the last time on Dec. 31, 1929 and recorded two very successful Zambas: Claveles mendocinos and Serrana impía.
